The drug attention concurred the good of supposed risk analysis and slackening strategies, or REMS, a set of avowal and tutorial collection to strengthen consumers from drug with potentially critical side effects.
But it is requesting a lighter regulatory touch. The FDA pronounced it would cruise a little changes.
"There has to be patently the many suitable change in between safeguarding the reserve of patients, which is of the pinnacle concern, but additionally you do so in a way which doesn't means nonessential burdens and inefficiencies in the illness caring system," Jeffrey Francer, partner ubiquitous warn for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, pronounced on Wednesday.

"In place of this one-size fits all approach, we hold which patients and the stakeholders in the illness caring complement could good if the FDA were to adopt a some-more tailored proceed to REMS," Acharya pronounced on Tuesday.

They are trying to prevent harm from untested drugs or treatments. They also are trying to limit treatment in a scientific way to things that are proven to work. Otherwise you get all sorts of people trying to sell garbage. They still do it, they just can't say it cures cancer for example.

The "Jungle'" probably was the main impetuous for the Act signed into law by Teddy Roosevelt. Get even more credit for pointing out that Upton Sinclair was a socialist, who didn't care what tainted food rich capitalists were engorging themselves upon. His main intent was to show the plight of the exploited workers in the food and stockyard industry.

The FDA is not responsible for what you choose to put in your body. If you do not educate yourself, if you do not read packages and labels before eating something, why should they? Grow up, and realize that you are responsible for you and your health, not the FDA or anyone else.

When I first saw your question, I clicked on it to ask if you were an idiot, until I read your description below your question! Yes, you are right. Do you know how right you are? Do you know that the FDA makes the laws that it enforces? The FDA is a gov't agency that regulates the licensing of prescription drugs for companies that are owned in large part by gov't officials! The pharmaceutical industry is THE MOST POWERFUL INDUSTRY IN THE WORLD! It far exceeds even the oil industry! So, these gov't officials that own large amounts of stock in these pharmaceutical companies have their own branch of gov't officials that regulate their own industry, make the laws that pertain to that industry, and enforce those laws! When they approve a drug, it is an automatic billion dollars for the drug company that makes that drug! Talk about organized crime! This has been going on long before Bush took office, too - for all you liberal jelly- brains that want to blame THAT on Bush! Now you can understand a little bit why so many drugs that the FDA approved in the first place are being recalled. People are DYING from their evil, money hungry ways! Then when any natural remedy comes out, it is ridiculed, and forbidden to state that it is even a remedy for anything! Because the FDA passed a law that states that only a DRUG can cure or prevent any disease! How's THAT for corruption? Fat people? They are no longer fat, that is now a disease called obesity! Only a drug can cure that! People used to get heartburn, or acid indigestion. Not any more! The doctors that get paid BIG BUCKS by the drug companies to prescribe you drugs have now given that the name 'Acid reflux Syndrome'. That is now a disease! Only a drug can cure or prevent a disease! That's the law! Add to it the fact that most people carry insurance, which gets billed without our even knowing what all they DO get billed for, and you start to see how it is just a vicious circle, designed to make money for the ones inside of it, and they could care less about your health! THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO GET WELL! THEY WANT YOU TO TAKE DRUGS THAT THEY MAKE AND SELL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! Being sick is not the normal thing! Being healthy is normal! That's just the tip of that iceberg, and IT IS GIGANTIC! Go to www.naturalcures.com or www.whistleblower.com, and you can get a clearer picture of the evil that these money hungry people are doing to your very lives and your health!

Im a person who doesnt give a crap about republicans or democrats. I am neither. Im just looking out for me and whats best for everyone. But i really hate the FDA for reasons that you probably dont even know you dont know. Pharmaceutical companies own the FDA. I dont believe in government regulation.

i believe it's a good thing but like almost every government agency it's too big and wastes too much money. i want it i just want it to be more efficient. that said we do have the highest standards for food in the world and the strictest laws pertaining to it.

You are mistaken, the United States have some of the most stringent food and drug laws and inspections. There are drugs that are legal in Europe that do not meet the requirements for the United States. Currently, the biggest problem with the FDA is not enough inspectors to go around.
